Alex Coates is the managing director of Currency UK, a financial institution which helps SMEs and individuals transact abroad by helping them achieve better exchange rates and simplifying international payments.

After graduating university in 2004, Alex joined Currency UK as its director of operations. After 16-and-a-half successful years in the role, he was appointed managing director at the beginning of 2021.

Career Overview

After graduating university in 2004, Alex joined Currency UK as its director of operations. After 16-and-a-half successful years in the role, he was appointed managing director at the beginning of 2021.

In March 2022, Alex appeared on a Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland podcast, discussing the importance of leadership and the impact it has had on his career to date.

Education

Alex is an alumnus of the University of Exeter, where he attained a BA in Economics and Spanish.
