Charlotte Wiseman

Charlotte Wiseman is a Positive Psychology and Leadership Consultant who runs her own consultancy helping leaders and businesses build mentally ‘fitter’ workplaces to help perform at the highest possible standards and attract and retain the best talent.

Career Overview

Before venturing into leadership and wellbeing consultancy, Charlotte established herself in the field of menswear design, working for names such as Sara Lee Courtaulds, Ted Baker, Bolongaro Trevor and Religion Clothing. In these roles, not only did Charlotte assume responsibility for designing, establishing and developing menswear clothes ranges, but she also gained integral experience leading her own teams - including establishing Ted Baker’s environmental and ethical team - and optimising cultural diversity in the workplace.

While working in the menswear design industry, Charlotte endured a personal journey of overcoming chronic stress, anxiety and depression that first led her to explore applied positive psychology techniques in 2009. The changes she experienced left such an impression on her that she left the fashion industry to pursue an MSc qualification in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology and Mental Health First Aid Trainer qualifications.

Charlotte subsequently worked from 2015 to 2017 as a guest tutor at the University of Brighton and went on to set up her own leadership and wellbeing consultancy in 2017. Through her consultancy, she continues to strive to promote the importance of mental health in the workplace and break down stigma surrounding it. In the same year she founded her business, she collaborated on a Wellbeing People project working with organisations to lead discussions with their teams, enabling individuals to cultivate compassion for those experiencing mental illness through the medium of music.

Today, Charlotte is a member of the British Psychological Society and International Positive Psychology Association. She has also featured in the Journal of Public Mental Health.

Education

Before venturing into her stellar menswear design career, Charlotte studied a Foundation Level Diploma in Fashion Design and Business at Kingston University, London, before spending four years at the University of Brighton completing a Fashion Design and Business BA [2001-2005].

Following her epiphany and her desire to explore Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology, Charlotte has since completed a certificate in Psychology at the University of Derby and completed her MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology at the University of East London [2017-2019]. She has also completed training courses in Mindfulness and Mental Health First Aid.
