Career Overview

Learmond started working in her family business between 2006 and 2014, helping her mother grow The Rochester Tuition Centre, which was first founded in 1988.

She then moved away to set up her own family business in Bristol, The Cream Tease Bus (one of the first split-screen camper van/catering van conversions in the country) with her partner between 2014 and 2016. However, she came back to the family business in 2016 to allow her mother to retire and renamed it, The Right Tuition Company.

In 2018 she decided to move her family to the beautiful Welsh boarder and run RTC- something much of the country would have to learn to do, just two years down the line!

Since the 2020 UK Covid-19 lockdown came into force, Learmond has secured a partnership with The Chatham Grammar School for Girls, where she has pledged 25% of their Chatham places to local children in receipt of free school meals. This is a model that she hopes to roll out across East Kent, in a bid to close what she calls, “The Grammar School Gap”.

This year she has also started a new family business with her mother, Anita Clemens, who had retired the education industry to focus on her work as an artist. This new company, Micro Group Learning Ltd., aims to create downloadable courses for other small group facilitators to implement. The first course will cover core subjects such as maths and literacy but with a strong environmental focus.

Learmond has also started trials for another online business with Chinese partners, where small groups of Chinese students will learn a wide range of topics taught by British tutors.

In October 2020, Learmond appeared on a Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland podcast, discussing the importance of leadership and the impact it has had on her career to date.
