Denise Terzi is the managing director of Morewood Accounting, a firm that specialises in payroll & employment practices. 

Career Overview

Terzi established Morewood Accounting, based in Welwyn Hertfordshire, in 2016 with an focus on personal contact, flexibility and and a relaxed tempo when dealing with clients. 

In June 2020, Denise Terzi appeared on a Leaders Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland podcast, discussing the importance of leadership and the role it has played in her career to date.

Education and certifications

To aid her in fulfilling her business ambitions, Terzi completed an NVQ Level 4 in Accounting at Amersham & Wycombe College between 2007 and 2008. 

Since 2016, Terzi has been listed as a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians.

Early business ventures

Long before setting up her own Accounting and Payroll Services business, Terzi created Capitol Hand Car Wash Ltd in 1993 and helped the company develop from one site to 40 nationwide. She managed the day to day operations of the business including all administration and customer service. She remained actively involved with the business until December 2014.

Working in retail

Between 2013 and 2015, Terzi took up a director role at Amanda's Den Ltd, a business based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, which sells baby and children's clothes. She remained with the business, overseeing accounting, compliance and building brand awareness until its closure due to a change in circumstances.

Venture into payroll work

From June 2015 to April 2016, Terzi worked with BM Wood Accountants in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, as a payroll manager. She was responsible for processing 300 payrolls per month for SMEs and social care bodies including CIS, as well as advising and ensuring that all clients met their responsibilities as employers with HMRC, the DWP and TPR.

Buoyed by this experience, Terzi went on to establish Morewood in 2016, where she remains director and proprietor to date.
