Based in Brent, London, the Sickle Cell Society has been operating since 1979, raising awareness about sickle cell disease and expanding understanding and clinical knowledge of the condition. James oversees the provision of services including a helpline, children’s holidays, educational events and resources, policy development, campaigning, and lobbying.
In June 2020, James appeared on a Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland podcast, discussing the importance of leadership and the impact it has had on his career to date.
