Alan Brookes’ role extends beyond the headship of Fulston Manor. He is also executive head teacher of Fulston Manor Academy Trust and chair of the Kent Association of Head Teachers (KAHT).

Alan has been in teaching for 45 years, with 39 of those years spent at Fulston Manor, where he first took on the headship in 1996.

Alan has been described by Ofsted as an inspirational and visionary head teacher, and a vital player in evolving partnership working between KAHT, the local authority and The Education People. His leadership has been subject to various compliments, not least during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In May 2021, Alan appeared on a Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland podcast, discussing the importance of leadership and the impact it has had on his career to date.
